Tonight VfB Stuttgart - Arsenal
2008/07/30 15:22:07
Arsenal play tonight a friendly match against VfB Stuttgart. There's a chance that the internationals who start July 21th with the training, will feature in this match. Robin is one of those players. It's not 100 % certain. There's also a chance that they will get their first minutes this weekend in the Emirates Cup.

There are two players in the Stuttgart squad who Robin knows very well. Former Arsenal keeper Jens Lehmann and Dutch friend Khalid Boulahrouz.

P.s. As you could also read on our homepage, we've add some (amature)photos from Austria.
Van Persie - I just want to be free of injuries
2008/07/29 23:50:31
You’ll win no prizes for guessing Robin van Persie’s aim for the coming season — fewer injuries.

The 24-year-old admits he has missed far too many games over the past two terms but sees the coming campaign as “a new season with new chances”. He is buoyed by his own scoring record during that time, 22 goals in 45 starts, and simply hopes for more opportunities to continue in the same vein.

“Last year I missed too many games and I am still disappointed about it,” said the Dutchman. “But that is life. That is football and things can happen. I accepted it.

“This is a new year with new chances. Hopefully I can be injury-free this year. Last year I played 16 games and scored seven goals — that is nearly one out of two. It is not too bad.

“I just want to have the same results this season with a few more matches.”

'Van Persie linked with Juventus'
2008/07/20 16:33:08
The News of the World reports Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri has identified £15m-rated Dutch star Van Persie as the ideal replacement for Czech attacker Pavel Nedved, who could retire at the end of this season.

The 24-year-old, who had joined Wenger’s side for £3m from Feyenoord in 2004, has a contract with the north-Londoners of until 2011.

Note: This is just a rumour with an uncertain source. Beside of that, Robin always said that he doesn't want to play in Italy.

'New signing' Van Persie is just as good as Ronaldo, insists Gunners defender Clichy
2008/07/19 18:40:58
Arsenal defender Gael Clichy has compared Robin van Persie to Cristiano Ronaldo and says his return to fitness will be like having a new signing at Arsenal this season.

Injuries ruled Van Persie out for most of last season but Clichy says the Dutchman has now improved his match fitness by playing for Holland in Euro 2008 and will provide the Gunners with a massive boost as they begin their new campaign.

Clichy said: 'He was unlucky to be injured last season so it was good to see him play game after game. It was a big blow to lose him and I'm certain that his return is going to be a great bonus for us this season.

'At Arsenal we have lots of players who can make a difference, but Robin is a player like Cristiano Ronaldo, the kind who, even if they aren't playing fantastically, can change things from one free-kick, corner or one pass.'

Van Persie gave assist for first 'Goal 4 Africa' goal
2008/07/13 02:09:22
An all star team of Michael Ballack have won the charity match 'Goal 4 Africa' in Munich with 9-6. The other team was lead by the ambassador of the charity, Clarence Seedorf. Stars like Gattuso and Dida featured in the match. Other famous players were former Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher and the grandson of Nelson Mandela, Ziswe Mandela. The match was also one of the events to celebrate the 90th birthday of Nelson Mandela.
Many Dutch teammates of Seedorf came to Munich. His nephew Stefano Seedorf and Khalid Boulahrouz played for Ballack's team. Emanuelson, De Jong, Van Bommel and Van Persie were the stars of Seedorf's team. Van Persie was not allowed to play the whole match. We don't know the reason for that. Robin played 2 minutes, but gave the assist to Ziswe Mandela who scored the first goal.
